NZ1 Chat Overlay ("the tool") is a private broadcast tool operated by NZ1 Aviation for the NZ1 Aviation YouTube channel (NZ1 Aviation). These terms describe how it may be used and what it does.
Who may use the tool
The tool is for the exclusive use of NZ1 Aviation and authorised stream operators of the NZ1 Aviation channel. It is not distributed, licensed, sold, or made available to the public or to other creators, and there is no sign-up.
Access is controlled by a shared secret. Sharing that secret with anyone not authorised to operate our streams is not permitted.
What the tool does
The tool reads the live chat of our own YouTube live streams and allows an operator to select individual viewer messages for display as an on-screen graphic within the broadcast. It performs no other function. It cannot post to chat, moderate chat, delete messages, or take any action on any YouTube account.
Use of YouTube API Services
The tool uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy and is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
We use YouTube API Services only as permitted by the YouTube API Services Developer Policies. In particular, the tool does not:
- store YouTube data beyond a short rolling buffer of recent chat messages
- sell, rent, transfer, or otherwise share YouTube data with any third party
- use YouTube data for advertising, profiling, or training machine learning models
- aggregate YouTube data across channels or build any independent database
- attempt to circumvent, replicate, or substitute for any part of the YouTube service
Messages displayed on stream
When an operator selects a chat message, the author's public display name, public profile image, message text, and any publicly shown Super Chat amount are displayed within the live broadcast. This is information already publicly visible to everyone viewing the chat.
Because our streams may be recorded or archived, a displayed message may remain visible in the stream recording. If you would prefer a message of yours not to be shown, or would like one removed from an archived stream, contact us and we will action it.
Availability
The tool is provided on an "as is" basis for our own operational use. There is no service level commitment, no warranty, and no guarantee of availability. It may be changed, suspended, or withdrawn at any time without notice.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, NZ1 Aviation accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the tool. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Changes
If these terms change, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
